Lucien returns at four in the morning from a fancy dress party and his wife starts arguing with him because he forgot his keys. What seems to be a classic argument between spouses soon becomes a no-holds-barred fight that Lucien desperately tries to put an end to so he can go to sleep. Yvonne, however, is unwilling to give up and involves the maid in the situation. Added to this is Yvonne’s mother’s valet who suddenly appears at the door to announce her death.
