The translation of the play into four acts Le voyage de Monsieur Perrichon by Eugène Labiche is in progress. The work, which is the subject of numerous analyses because of the way it deals with the theme of benefactors and beneficiaries is one of the author’s most famous because it describes a character who has become a classic of the vaudeville repertoire. The translation is based on the text published by Editions du Seuil where every sentence and double meaning is explained in detail by André Barsacq who in his time edited the staging of the opera.
