I am working on the translation of a short essay, written by an Oxford scholar, focusing on Rebecca by Alfred Hitchcock and the novel of the same name by Daphne du Maurier. The essay compares different elements of the film and the book, also trying to highlight the symbolic meaning of the film and the text and the ethical positions determined by the choice or rejection of the use of certain narrative strategies in both works. A text that analyzes in detail the attitude of the famous British director towards a novel that he deeply loved.
